Frequently Asked Questions

Where do you get your sea moss, and is it real?

Our sea moss comes straight from a family sea moss farming operation in St. Lucia. Traditional Lucian farmers collect the moss from the sea, then cultivate it in open ocean farms for 2-3 months until the sea moss has grown large enough to be harvested. Everything is done by hand, just the way it’s been done for generations.
Some say their product is from St. Lucia when it is from a distributor elsewhere. Or they sell a nutritionally inferior boiled gel. Our’s is a pure wild-harvested sea moss. It is hung to air dry and there are absolutely no chemicals used in the process. It is not bleached, or raised in a pool. We guarantee the highest possible quality sea moss.
Our moss has been certified as legitimate, and we can provide documentation from the Minister of Agriculture in St,. Lucia for everything we import.

Why is our sea moss gel superior?

Our sea moss is pure and wild-harvested without added preservatives of any kind.

We want our customers to get what they paid for, which is a product loaded with minerals!

Our chemists spent a long time developing the best possible formula for our sea moss gel. We bought gel from 20 different competitors and learned that the majority of them either boil the moss, or have contaminants in their gel. Our moss is not pool-grown and IS NOT BOILED. Adding heat adversely affects the quality and immediately begins to decompose the highly nutritious elements in the moss. Some customers are accustomed to boiled sea moss, which produces more gelatin-like. Because we haven’t added heat, which releases the carrageenan and kills the elements, the texture of our gel is grainier -especially when we add elderberries, or any fresh fruit that has a berry texture- and has a texture like well blended applesauce.

How do I consume my sea moss gel?

Take a spoonful straight from the jar, or blend it into a smoothie. The recommended serving size is 1-2 tbsp/day. Our sea moss gel with added fresh organic fruit is naturally and mildly sweet. Each tablespoon is approximately 10 kcals. Our plain gold gel -also sold as a Face & Body Gel, has a natural earthy taste.

The acid in the fruit changes the chemical properties of the gel, which might cause condensation, and the gel to appear watery when received. Shake or stir it and place into the fridge. Our gels may have a different texture than others you have purchased. Ours is similar to applesauce, where most gel sold by competitors has been boiled and is more gelatin-like.
Your gel will likely arrive at room temperature, which is ok. Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 month, or in the freezer (in a freezer safe bag or container-NOT in glass) for 3 months.
